During the first visit, in case of delay of menstruation and positive pregnancy test, an obstetrician-gynaecologist after the standard interview and external inspection offers an examination on a gynaecological examination chair and an ultrasound (when indicated). Indications for ultrasound: clinical signs of threatening miscarriage, suspected extrauterine pregnancy, burdened maternal obstetric and gynaecological history of previous pregnancies, etc.

If a specialist confirms the developing intra-uterine pregnancy and does not reveal contraindications to carrying of a pregnancy, a woman will be offered the programme of ambulatory pregnancy follow-up, which includes all the necessary examinations.

Within the scope of the programmes of ambulatory pregnancy follow-up, an obstetrician-gynaecologist performs an examination on a gynaecological examination chair, assigns planned ultrasound examinations, all the necessary tests and specialist consultations during the process of registration of pregnancy.
